How to Apply
The application process is quite easy. But first, make sure you have:
- a valid form of ID (i.e. driver's license)
- a copy of your Social Security card
A1 ABC's in-person application (at the Gretna or Luling office) requires you to arrive before 3:00pm.
After you apply, your application will be reviewed and considered for a position at A1 ABC.
If you are hired for a position at A1 Absolute Best Care, there will be a mandatory training initiative.

Direct Service Worker/Personal Care Attendant
Level of Work: Entry
Location of Work: Home and Community
Description
DSW/PCA workers perform routine non-nursing duties in the care and comfort of patients for the maintenance of a clean patient environment.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma, GED or a trade school diploma in the area of human services, demonstrated competency, or have verifiable work experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities. At least 3 references from previous employers and/or work supervisors.
What We Look For
At A-1 ABC, we are looking for workers who are consistent with attendance according to their schedule that they provide us. But, most importantly, we are looking for workers who are kind, loving, and compassionate toward our patients.
What to do after you are hired
Accept Your Position
After your application is reviewed and you are considered for a position at A-1 ABC, you will receive a call from an office manager to explain some of your first duties!
Participate in A-1 ABCs Training Initiative
Once you accept your position, there will be a training initiative provided either in-person or through online. If you choose to train via online, you are still required to be at our Gretna office and will be instructed by an office manager on how to access the training.
Perform Your Job
Following a successful training, whether that was in-person or through our virtual format, you will be asked to perform the work listed in the description of your job title.
